I had LASIK three months ago and have had very good results - I started very shortsighted, -8.5, and now I'm in the -1.25/-0.75 right and left eyes, respectively. It is impossible to predict the actual results, despite what many clinics and advertisements will tell you who I am and 20/20 Vision with the treatment guarantees suspect. I see no need for glasses or contact lenses for most of my activities, although at the time, which still wear a pair of glasses for driving.
In essence, the procedure is as follows:
1. His eyelids open and close a local anesthetic and antibiotic drops put in.
2. The surgeon makes a thin circular lid hinged at the front of the cornea. This can either be done by a blade (Lance), or called a laser (Intralase). This implies a feeling of uncomfortable pressure of slightly less than a minute, but it should not hurt.
3. The flap is lifted and the laser light used, the recipe, which is programmed into the device. Laser treatment lasts a fewsecond place (in my case, 37 seconds) by the height limit.
4. The flap is in the eye again and put more drops are applied.
5. The surgeon controls the flap position is correct, then the other eye if needed.
Has less than 15 minutes for both eyes, before I returned to my room.
Maintenance is also important that the procedure to avoid - to be rubbing or touching your eyes for a few weeks, drop the use of shields in the night, a first step and apply the eye several times a day.
I see my doctor again next week for another to see my vision a little better - it is important that you have the opportunity to work with the surgeon beforehand properly informed of risks and possible consequences are talking about and I personally will not go at a clinic, where all are pre-op assessments and consultations with the sales staff as the surgeon himself performed.
For more information, please take a look at the website below whicha good summary. And in answer to your question, while a thin flap is cut into the front of the eye, is the show not really eyball!
PLEASE DONT DESTROY YOUR LIFE.
I pray to God.
